Autodesk University 2009 was by all definitions a success. Everyone that I’ve talked to, whether they were in Las Vegas or attending via the AU Virtual events, had a great time and walked away from the experience with an improved knowledge of the programs we work with daily, more connections and friends, and much more. I covered all this last week when I posted my reactions to Autodesk University 2009 here. That’s all fine a good, but there are two sides to every story.

Autodesk University (Las Vegas) is over, the AU Extension events are wrapping up, and Autodesk is gearing to update the AU Online website in short order to contain all of the AU Virtual (AUv) screencasts, handouts, materials, and course descriptions for AU 2009. It has been a pretty big success this year with the roll-out of AUv and the incorporation of Twitter into socially connecting everyone in Las Vegas and around the world.

Early registration for Autodesk University 2009 has begun today and the lines are officially open. Anyone that is registered on AU Online, AUGI, and through certain Autodesk Resellers are invited to take part in early registration for AU 2009. If you don’t fall into any of those categories, you have a little more time to wait, but don’t worry, the early bird special rates go on until October 9th. The Autodesk University 2009 Speaker Schedule has been released. Of course, if the speaker schedule is available, that also means that you can now see the classes being offered. It may be a little difficult to find the classes you are interested in at this point because the schedule is organized by speaker, as opposed to by class.

Autodesk University online is now closed to class proposals. There are over 200 more proposals submitted for this year’s 2009 Autodesk University compared to 2008. Go to Autodesk University Online to vote for which classes you want to see there. If you don’t have an AU Online account, register as an AU Online Member.
