This week we will be exploring an available job with Hannum, Wagle & Cline Engineering based out of Indianapolis, IN. The opening is for a CAD professional whom is an experienced Civil Engineering Design Technician with comprehensive experience on AutoCAD Civil 3D software. I can tell you from personal interaction with Hannum, Wagle & Cline personnel that they are very motivated to fill this position, but are adamant about finding the perfect person for the role. Anyone interested in applying for this job should definitely meet the minimum requirements set out within their job board postings (as copied below), but in all reality HWC is looking for someone that I would consider a “gunslinger”: someone who absolutely knows Civil 3D inside and out with verifiable design skills within the Civil Engineering field. Also, I am under the direct impression that the perfect candidate for this opening will be someone who can show they are fully capable of coordinating, communicating, and implementing company-wide styles and standards.

“Qualified candidate needs to be experienced in AutoCAD and Civil3D (2010 required), developing, modifying or reviewing drawings according to established standards, providing drafting and design support for project engineers during the planning, design and construction of typical civil engineering projects with emphasis on water, wastewater, drainage, roads, utilities and site development.

Equivalent of a computer certificate/degree or equivalent Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) class training and 3 to 5 years experience preferred.  Management experience a plus.
