Improved Searchability

1 June 2009 135 Comments

I’ve recently added additional categories to choose from on the site.  This will make finding the topic you want much easier.  Simply put, if you want to find a post about Dynamic Blocks, filter by choosing the ‘Dynamic Block’ category on the sidebar of the page (although there isn’t any content in that category as of yet-it’s just an example).

When I create posts, they will all be on the blog roll of the main page, but they will also be categorized based upon the main subject matter discussed in the post.  If it is a post about AutoCAD Fields, but about inserting them into Dynamic Blocks, they will be under the ‘Field’ category.  However, if I do a later post about Dynamic Blocks with Fields in them, the post will be under the ‘Dynamic Block’ category.  Also, anytime there is overlapping information between subject matter, a hyperlink to the opposing post will always be included to avoid ‘double-posting’ or an information gap.  Finally, if you are unsure exactly what category to choose, pick a tag for the subject matter out of the tag cloud on the sidebar.

I will do my best to keep this process consistent and as simple as possible.  If you have any other suggestions, please let me know in the comments.
