Features
You now know what Indydrafter.com is all about, who an Indydrafter is, and some of the ways this website allows you to communicate on a global level. How about exploring the many features of the website and what to expect from them?
Home Page – This is your one-stop shop for all of the latest posts, Autodesk news, and access to any page on Indydrafter.com (although everything is pretty accessible regardless of where you are on the site)
User Groups – These pages are dedicated to the local user groups that operate within the region and have decided to become affiliated with Indydrafter.com for the following resources: informing the internet community what the purpose of each user group is; publicizing the times, dates, locations, and topics of meetings; providing an easily accessible meeting sign-up form; promoting user group members with personalized professional pages; a form for group member registration; and regular posts on upcoming meetings, events, and meeting materials and minutes. If you are a part of or run a user group and would like to become affiliated with Indydrafter.com, send me an *email with all the contact and general information about your group.
Forums – Although already mentioned, it must be known that the discussion forums can be used for any Autodesk product, personnel and technology management, user group discussions, and any off-topic subject the Indydrafter.com community desires (except for anything vulgar, explicit, or offensive)
Events Page – If you are ever interested in knowing about the upcoming meetings, seminars, and other activities within Indiana and/or the national-scale conventions then this is the page for you. Indydrafter.com lists everything from Autodesk Reseller product seminars to user group meetings, to the national and regional conventions coming up on the Events page. Also, if you know of something coming up, send me an *email with the event information.
Jobs – Again, this was previously discussed, but make sure you visit the Jobs pages if you are looking for new opportunities, have recently been laid-off or fired, or just curious about what the drafting and design field is up to. Aside from the job board, you can also expect tips about writing a resume, preparing for an interview, balancing work and family time in your current job, and the pros and cons to look for when finding a company to work for/build a career with.
Polls – Occasionally Indydrafter.com will run a poll to discover the opinions of its community. This could be directed toward upcoming or past content on the site, current field-related news, your position and responsibilities, or completely off-topic and just for fun.
Resources – If you can’t find what you need on Indydrafter.com, then these resources may be just what you need. Indydrafter.com has listed dozens of links for Autodesk product Hotfixes and Updates, blogs, training websites, and even other Indydrafter related pages. Almost everything you could possible need just a click away. If you know of any other websites or happen to run one yourself, *let me know.
About – you don’t need me to tell you this…you’re already here aren’t you? Make sure you read up on Bryan, though, and to check out the Privacy Policy.
eStore – Indydrafter.com doesn’t do a whole lot of business, but what little it does do you can find on the eStore page. There you’ll come across suggested books, plug-ins, and other related products and materials. You may just find your favorite new tool or book there.
Contact – If you were ever in need of getting a hold of Indydrafter.com or Bryan for any reason, you can find all the contact information you should ever need on the Contact page. If it isn’t there, you either don’t need it or you don’t have the double-secret clearance to obtain it.
