Thank you for visiting Indydrafter.com – The Indypendent Autodesk Resource and enjoying all it has to offer. You may have been led here from a suggestion by a friend or peer, referred by an Autodesk website, or quite possibly from a simple web search on the likes of Google or Yahoo for an AutoCAD feature, tool, or workflow you were interested in learning more about. Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you’re interested enough to check out Indydrafter.com and learn more about it. Make sure you also read through the other pages about Indydrafter.com’s beginiings, features, and benefits.

What is Indydrafter.com? This website is dedicated to all drafters, designers, architects, engineers, planners, and graphics professionals – whether they use AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, 3Ds Max, or any other Autodesk software – that are trying to improve their skill set and abilities, improve their production and management skills, looking for a job or new career, as well as looking to get a question or problem answered in a simple and timely manner.

Who is an Indydrafter? There are 2 interpretations of this term: an ‘indypendent’ contractor…or an AutoCAD user from Indiana (or even more specifically from Indianapolis). However, I’d like to offer that an Indydrafter is anyone who is individually taking the initiative to enhance their skill set and abilities within the drafting and design field. An Indydrafter isn’t just a contract employee or a person from a certain region. An Indydrafter is someone taking a personal interest in his or her professional development. In doing so, an Indydrafter also positively affects and influences his or her peers and coworkers. Indydrafters are people that create momentum and environments that inspire collaboration and team efforts. Indydrafters will also evolve and thrive with the changes in technology.

I’m not asking you to ‘drink the Kool-Aid’ on this mentality. I do, however, propose that those who transform this way of thinking into action will be the professionals that excel in their respective fields and advance into more desirable positions. Some simple, gradual changes to your daily activities are more than enough to begin this process and Indydrafter.com hopes to be a continual part of that.
