There is a new AutoCAD resources website in town and it’s name is Indydrafter.com. Take it how you want it–is it a twist on ‘indie’ for the independent drafters and designers out there, or is it for those in Indianapolis? Indydrafter.com is a site that will strive to benefit all in the design and drafting field whether that be Civil Engineering, Architectural, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, or Educational.

Click Here to vote for my Autodesk University classes.  Autodesk is relying heavily on the input of attendees and registered users for what content they want to see at Autodesk University.  If you aren’t a member of AU online yet, click Here to register before voting.

The Basics of AutoCAD Fields

In the May Preview, I listed the AutoCAD Help Menu’s definition of what a Field is. Something a little more descriptive, and yet easier to understand, would be that a Field is a vehicle to link object, drawing, sheet set, and environmental data into text that can be read, understood, and updated dynamically with your drawing data. Well, at least I think that is a little more descriptive and easier to understand than the Help menu.
